At this time, this is the largest collection on the Internet (to my knowledge). Some I got from books, websites and some are my own. I have tested most (for about 3yrs time), made the appropriate changes and formulated some of my own. Do use alone or with appropriate spell or ritual. If you are unfamiliar with herbs/oils, please do be sure you read the entire guide before using.

Before trying any of the Abramelin Oil recipes, do read that entire section (Abramelin & Galangal), as it is very tricky to deal with.

Warning: Do not place any oils on your skin or where it will come into contact with your skin or inhale, unless and until you know you are not allergic to the ingredients.

Prepare this blend by pouring the oils in a 10-oz bottle and then adding organic vegetable oil to fill. Anoint the third eye, sacrum and solar plexus. Pour a few drops into the palm of your hands and inhale deeply, good for anointing candles in majickal workings.

o what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.

I received this Abramelin recipe from our greatly esteemed colleague

Fr. EMT. about a year or so ago. I have tested it and it works

however I found that practically speaking a lot more olive oil was necessary. I ground all ingredients in a blender and wrapped in cheesecloth, and placed in a ball mason jar, which I heated to boiling repeatedly in a baie marie for several hours daily for about a week, perhaps even longer steeping would have provided more "burn".

When extracted separately the constituent oil tends to separate in to layers, so I recommend doing it all at the same extraction.

"You shall prepare the Sacred Oil in this manner: Take of myrrh

(Mirrhe en larmes) in tears, one part; of fine cinnamon, two parts;

of galangal half a part; and the half of the total weight of these

drugs of the best oil olive. The which aromatics you shall mix

together according unto the Art of the Apothecary, and shall make

thereof a Balsam, the which you shall keep in a glass vial which

you shall put within the cupboard..."

Abramelin Oil 5

When I made my oil, I used the recipe listed in the back of Book 4 (1994),

footnote number 233, page 715.

8 parts cinnamon oil

2 parts galangal

7 parts olive oil

4 parts myrrh

It worked very well. I think this would account for the added cinnamon oil

(and burn) Chariot spoke of.

Abramelin Oil 6

I used the L.B.R.P. to begin.

Cleared, centered and focused my mind on the project at hand.

Mixed the ingredients slowly.

Used a quartz stirring rod and a glass bowl to mix.

Through out all I stayed focused.

After funneling into glass containers, I did the L.B.R.P. to finish.

Abramelin Oil 7

I recommend caution when using

purchased oils for this reason: our extraction methods are more

sophisticated and efficient nowadays than they were when the Abramelin

recipe was recorded. Using those proportions with modern oils will not

give the same results and you will most likely only be able to smell the cinnamon.

What I do is this: Start with an amount of olive oil approximately a

third of the amount of Abramelin oil desired. Remember that what is a

desirable trait in olive oil for cooking may not be desirable for

fragrance purposes. Dark green, extra virgin olive oil will lend it's

own fragrance to the result. I use the lightest oil I can find. Add

about a quarter to a third that amount of Myrrh oil. Then start adding

the galangal oil several drops at a time, mixing and smelling in between

additions to test the strength. Real galangal oil has a very peculiar

fragrance and you don't want it to overpower the others. When the

galangal and myrrh oils seem to be in good balance with one another (you

may have to go back and forth, adding the two oils) then start adding

the cinnamon. The cinnamon is the strongest of the three and you will

need to add it very slowly, drop by drop, to avoid completely

obliterating the other two more subtle fragrances, particularly the myrrh.

This is the simplest method I have found for developing a blend that

truly satisfies your own tastes.

Abramelin Oil 8

Exodus 30 is pretty much the nuts-and-bolts of the

Knowledge and

Conversation of the H:.G:.A:..The recipe for the Oil given there is:

five hundred weight of solidified myrrh,

two hundred fifty of fragrant cinnamon,

two hundred and fifty of aromatic cane,

five hundred of cassia,

and a hint of olive oil.

'Make of this a sacred anointing oil, a compound of ingredients

expertly blended,

to serve as sacred anointing oil.'

ABRAMELIN OIL, MADE BY MACERATION

English-speaking occultists who are aware that Mathers badly mistranslated the French manuscript, as well as others who have never consulted the Mathers version because they have read the text in the original German, French, or Aramaic, make a macerated version of Abramelin oil as follows:

· 4 parts Cinnamon bark quills, reduced to powder

· 2 parts Myrrh resin, finely ground

· 1 part Calamus chopped root, reduced to powder

· half of the foregoing total weight Olive oil

The mixture is macerated for one month, then decanted and bottled for use, producing a fragranced oil suitable for anointing any portion of the body. It may be applied liberally, after the manner of traditional Jewish Holy Oils, such as the one, which was poured on Aaron's head until it ran down his beard. It is not, however, made "according unto the art of the apothecary", for it is not distilled after the maceration, merely decanted into bottles.

ABRAMELIN OIL, MADE WITH ESSENTIAL OILS

Those wishing to make a version of Abramelin oil in the original form, with Calamus, but using a modern substitution of essential oils for raw plant matter, might be tempted to use this formula:

· 4 parts Cinnamon essential oil

· 2 parts Myrrh essential oil

· 1 part Sweet Flag|Calamus essential oil

· half of the foregoing total weight Olive oil

However, this is incorrect, for if one follows the proportions above and weigh out the proportions of essential oils according to the recipe specified by Abraham of Worms for weighing out raw materials, there will not be enough carrier oil in the final result to make a proper dressing oil Therefore, in recognition of the fact that ancient perfumers and apothecaries never compounded their fragrances by mixing essential oils in such large ratio with respect to carrier oils (because the original formula was to be distilled after maceration, not before), one should restore the proportions to something like what they would have been if maceration and distillation had occurred "according to the art of the apothecary":

· 4 parts Cinnamon essential oil

· 2 parts Myrrh essential oil

· 1 part Sweet Flag|Calamus essential oil

· 28 parts Olive oil

This is a highly fragranced oil that may be applied to the body after ancient, medieval, and modern traditions of both folk magic and ritual magic. It is a close, modern approximation of the oil described by Abramelin to Abraham of Worms. This version of he oil is sold by The Lucky Mojo Curio Co..

MATHERS' FALSE ABRAMELIN OIL, MADE BY MACERATION

Some people who make Abramelin according to the English mistranslation in Mathers' book compound their Abramelin oil from raw ingredients, as Abraham of Worms (and Mathers) specified. They use the ratio given in the book, but substitute Galangal for Calamus:

· 4 parts Cinnamon bark quills, reduced to powder

· 2 parts Myrrh resin tears, finely ground

· 1 part Galangal sliced root, reduced to powder

· half of the foregoing total weight Olive oil

This mixture is macerated for one month, then decanted and bottled for use. The result is a fragranced oil suitable for anointing any portion of the body, and it will not burn the skin. This version of he oil is sold by a number of occult shops in America.

CROWLEY'S FALSE ABRAMELIN OIL, MADE WITH ESSENTIAL OILS

Early in the 20th century, the British occultist Aleister Crowley created his own version of Abramelin Oil. It was based on Mathers' mistaken substitution of Galangal for Calamus. Crowley also abandoned the book's method of preparation -- which specifies blending Myrrh "tears" (resin) and "fine" (finely ground) Cinnamon -- instead opting to pour together distilled essential oils with a small amount of olive oil. His recipe reads as follows:

· 8 parts Cinnamon essential oil

· 4 parts Myrrh essential oil

· 2 parts Galangal essential oil

· 7 parts Olive oil

Crowley weighed out his proportions of essential oils according to the recipe specified by Abraham of Worm for weighing out raw materials. He did not correct this error, as was done with Recipe #2, above. The result is to give the Cinnamon an overwhelming presence, which he justified by claiming that, when placed on the skin, "it should burn." This formula is unlike the Jewish grimoire recipe and the Jewish Holy Oil from which it derived. It cannot be used according to traditional practice, where the oil may be poured over the head or rubbed upon the body for purposes of healing and given spiritual insight.

ABRAMELIN OIL IN MODERN OCCULT TRADITION

The popularity of Abramelin Oil rests on the importance magicians place upon Jewish traditions of Holy Oils. The oil is highly esteemed by those who wish to follow the course of ritual activities outlined in the book by Abramelin the Mage in order to obtain the outcomes he promised those who successfully applied his system of "Divine Science" and "True Magic", namely, the gifts of flight, treasure-finding, and invisibility, as well as the power to cast effective love spells.

Because it derives from the formula for Jewish Holy Oil, Abramelin Oil also finds use among Jewish and Christian Kabbalists who are not specifically performing the works described by Abraham of Worms.

More recently, due to blind adherence to Mathers' mistranslation of "The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage" a number of American and English occultists have come to believe that Abramelin Oil exists in many "legitimate variants" or that Mathers' error was indicative of the fact that Abramelin Oil had not been derived from Jewish Holy Oil. In particular, Mathers' erroneous recipe was virtually canonized by Aleister Crowley, the founder of a religion called Thelema. His skin-burning version of the oil is currently used in several ceremonies of the Thelemic church (the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica). The Thelemic Gnostic Mass includes the eating of a Eucharistic host, called a "Cake of Light”, which includes this oil as a flavoring agent.

Angelic Protection Oil

Angelica was traditionally used to cast off darkness and negativity. It is used in incenses and oils for Midsummer (Litha) to help celebrate the healing power of fire and sun. Evil spirits were thought to roam freely about on Midsummer, so angelica was used to deter them. Angelica oil is used for protection.

The following is an infused oil and can be used by itself or as a base for a compound majickal oil. In order to use this oil on Midsummer at it's fullest power, you will have to make it a year in advance, because to achieve fullest effectiveness, the leaves used to make it should be harvested on Midsummer morning.

Gather the Angelica leaves, and allow them to wilt (this reduces the moisture content) then loosely pack them into a glass jar, cover with sunflower oil. Put a lid on the jar, and set it on sunny windowsill for two weeks, shaking it everyday. Strain, and repeat if you wish to strengthen the oil. When you reach the strength you wish, strain through a filter into a clean glass container. Store in a cool, dark place until ready to use.

Angelic Protection Oil 2

4 Drops essential oil of Dragon's Blood

3 Drops essential oil of Frankincense

2 Drops essential oil of Anise

2 Drops essential oil of Juniper

1/8 cup of prepared Angelica oil (see above)

Blend oils as described below and add a few anise seeds and/or a few dried juniper berries, and any of the following: gate; Citrine; Garnet, Obsidian or Turquoise.

Use to anoint candles for protection rituals and spells. Also use to anoint doorways and windows to protect your home.

Use a clean, dark glass bottle, add essential oils first, swirling to blend; then the carrier oils. Cover the bottle and roll between your palms to blend. Then uncap the bottles and add the herbs and crystals. Label the bottle with the Name of the Oil; the date; Moon phase; and Sign, with waterproof acid-free ink. The bottles may be decorated with ribbon, sigils, etc., to represent the Sabbat, or use the oil is intended for.

* Be sure to clean, clear and charge all crystals and herbs before adding them to the finished oil. You can use one of the following methods to do this: Saltwater bath, and then place in the moonlight or sunlight for the crystals. For the herbs, charge them in the moonlight or the sunlight, and be sure to harvest them in the correct moon phase.

**Here is a tip for the crystals, If you wish to try this method, it works quite well, and gives you more use of your crystals: With a metal nail file, file the crystals into a powder and add the powder to your oils, instead of the whole crystal. Or, buy the inexpensive crystal chip pieces of jewelry such as a necklace or bracelet. The chips are usually small enough to fit in the oil bottles.

Fennel Foeniculum Vulgare

Source of oil - the seeds, by distillation.

Eaten too much chocolate over Easter? Got a tummy upset? Fennel is good when you feel nauseous, it is also anti fungal and anti spasmodic. It can be used to help treat colic, indigestion and stomach upsets. Fennel is mainly used for flavoring medicines to help with flatulence and indigestion. It is a constituent of gripe water and can be infused in teas. It blends well with Geranium and Lavender, amongst others. As Fennel can cause skin sensitivity it should not be used in general massage, but it can be used for specific area treatments such as applying the following blend for help treating tummy upsets, to the tummy area only:

· Base Oil - 20ml

· Fennel - 2 drops

· Lavender - 2 drops

· Peppermint - 1 drop

Half normal amount of drops has been used to avoid skin irritations.

Geranium Pelargonium varieties

Source of oil - leaves, stalks and flowers by steam distillation

A flower to be seen in almost every English garden; it is not only nice to look at, but also makes a very useful essential oil. Geranium is relaxing, but can also be mentally uplifting; it is anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic. Geranium can be used to help with PMT and other nervous tension; it has a reputation for being a hormone stabilizer and for balancing oily skin. Geranium can be blended well with Chamomile, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Juniper Berry and Lavender. Try out this blend of oils to help unwind:

· Base oil - 20 ml

· Geranium - 4 drops

· Lavender - 3 drops

· Chamomile - 3 drops

Autumn Equinox Oil

For use on the Autumnal Equinox, or Mabon, September 21

5 parts Sandalwood

3 parts Frankincense

3 parts Patchouli Oil

3 parts Cypress Oil

1 part Pine (needles or Oil)

1 part dried Oak Leaves

Blend the above essential oils (or dried herbs) into a carrier oil and store in a sealed glass bottle.

use during Babylonian & Sumerian majickal rituals, or when attuning with such deities as Inanna, Marduk, Enlil, Tiamat & others.

Banishing Oil

-1/2 oz olive oil

7 drops pepper oil (add cayenne pepper to olive oil if you wish)

-10 drops peppermint oil - or peppermint essence from icing part of a grocers plus olive oil.

-12 drops of rue or rosemary oil. You can add rue or rosemary to olive oil and put in a warm

place for 3 days and strain or buy the essential oil.

-Some crushed black peppercorns

-15 drops of pine oil or some pine needles stepped in olive oil for 3 days in warm place and strained.

Or pine essential oil. One obsidian or black onyx stone or a small black pebble.

massage away from you massaging in banishing oil from

middle to the ends of the candle.

Blend together in an eggcup and put in a clean brown or dark medicine bottle.

Some of these oils are volatile. Do not anoint yourself with Banishing oil. You could burn yourself.

Wash your hands after using. Charge the stone or stones used after adding it and focus on the person and your intent pouring in energy and emotion. As you dress the candles you make them your magical tools. Charge again as you

There are many recipes for Black Arts Oil. Here's a quick one:

half a dropper essential oil of patchouli

a pinch of valerian root a pinch of black poodle dog hair a pinch of black mustard seeds

a pinch of Spanish moss a pinch of mullein a pinch of powdered sulfur

nine whole black peppercorns

Blend into one half-ounce carrier oil such as almond. Color dark brown.

Blessed Bingo Oil

This traditional formula is rumored to bring luck to all types of games of chance.

Anoint your bingo chips and cards to bring you luck. I've never gambled before, but my great Aunt Dora swears by this blend.

Calendula Oil

Calendula oil usually has to be made yourself, unless you pay an arm and leg for it.

It is very easy to make:

Steep Calendula(marigold) petals in sweet almond oil over very low heat for a long time.

The long the better, but be careful not to burn it. It should smell like toast sort of.

It is a pleasant aroma. If you want it to be stronger, then strain the oil off and add it

back to the pan with more Calendula petals.

Used for luck and power of all kinds. It is the most popular conjure drug in New Orleans. Those who work with these essential oils know how similar Citronella and Lemongrass smell. Folks with botanical knowledge will also realize the close relationship between Citronella, Lemongrass, Vetivert, Palma Rosa, and Ginger grass (in fact, Ginger grass is simply the lesser quality second pressing of Palma Rosa grass!). As my Van Van recipe indicated, the addition of Vetivert (Khus Khus), Palma Rosa, and Ginger grass was to be in very small quantities compared to the Lemongrass and Citronella, which means that both Chinese Wash and Van Van Oil smell predominantly of citrusy fragrances, with smoky undertones.

** Be sure to clean, clear and charge all crystals and herbs before adding them to the finished oil. You can use one of the following methods to do this: Saltwater bath, and then place in the moonlight or sunlight for the crystals. For the herbs, charge them in the moonlight or the sunlight, and be sure to harvest them in the correct moon phase.

***Here is a tip for the crystals, If you wish to try this method, it works quite well, and gives you more use of your crystals: With a metal nail file, file the crystals into a powder and add the powder to your oils, instead of the whole crystal. Or, buy the inexpensive crystal chip pieces of jewelry such as a necklace or bracelet. The chips are usually small enough to fit in the oil bottles.

Family Success

Create this oil when the moon is new, waxing or full.

1/8 cup Base Oil

6 drops Palma Rosa

3 drops Lavender

3 drops Lemon Verbena

1 Tiny Amethyst or Rose Quartz

1 Sterilized Glass Bottle w/ Lid

Visualize your need or goal. Once it is clearly formed in your mind, add the base oil to the jar. Add the ingredients in one by one, swirling the jar clockwise to mix. Note how each ingredient affects the aroma of the oil. Take your stone/crystal and place it in your projective hand, charge your need into the stone/crystal. Add the stone/crystal to the oils. Seal the jar and store for three days (or at least overnight) before your first use.

Use to anoint yourself with a few drops on the neck, wrists and ankles, anoint candles, anoint stones/crystals, place a few drops on a cotton ball or handkerchief and inhale when needed, add six to ten drops in your bathwater, place a couple of drops in a diffuser, add a few drops to a spray bottle full of spring water and spray in rooms.

Ylang Ylang Canago Odorata

Source of oil - Fresh flowers by steam distillation.

In the mood for romance? Ylang Ylang is said to be an aphrodisiac, it can be an anti-depressant, along with being a general “tonic”. Ylang Ylang can be used to help in treating shock, in healing distressing emotions, for general depression and frigidity. It can be blended well with Lavender, Geranium and Frankincense. Mix these oils at the following doses for a sensual massage oil:

· Base Oil - 20 ml

· Lavender - 2 drops

· Ylang Ylang - 5 drops

· Frankincense - 1 drop

· Geranium - 2 drops

Ylang Ylang has a very strong, heady scent, blend carefully!

Flower Oil for Attraction

1 Part Honeysuckle* fragrance oil

1 Part Violet* fragrance oil

1 Part Jasmine* fragrance oil

1 Part Carnation* fragrance oil

1/8 Cup carrier oil such as almond, grape seed or jojoba

Blend oils as described below and add a few dries Jasmine flower flowers and any of the following: Amethyst, Lepidolite; Rose Quartz, Pink Tourmaline. Wear as a personal fragrance to attract love and friendship and to honor the goddesses Flora and Maia.

*Note: Fragrance oils are being used for this blend as the essential oils here are quite difficult to find or very expensive. You should "patch-test" them on your skin before using them as anointing oils.

**1 part can be a drop, a teaspoon, an ounce, or any other measure so long as it is consistent. This recipe is set up in parts so you can make more or less as you need for your individual purposes. These fragrance oils are relatively inexpensive, however you should purchase good quality fragrance oils. Do NOT use potpourri oils if you will be wearing this on your skin! This is a good oil to make in quantity to have available as needed.

Use a clean, dark glass bottle, add essential oils first, swirling to blend; then the carrier oils. Cover the bottle and roll between your palms to blend. Then uncap the bottles and add the herbs and crystals. Label the bottle with the Name of the Oil; the date; Moon phase; and Sign, with water-proof acid-free ink. The bottles may be decorated with ribbon, sigils, etc., to represent the Sabbat, or use the oil is intended for.

. Blend the above essential oils (or dried herbs) into a carrier oil and store in a sealed glass bottle.
